The Mullins Center at UMass Amherst continues to celebrate 20 years of bringing the best in entertainment to Western Massachusetts with the announcement today that legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan will return to the arena on April 6, 2013. The concert will mark Dylan’s sixth appearance at the Mullins Center and the first since November 2010.
Known to many as the voice of his generation, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bob Dylan is a favorite for the area. In making his sixth visit to the Mullins Center, Dylan becomes the single performer with the most appearances in arena history. He also joins Phish at the top of the list for all musical acts at the venue in Amherst.
The writer and performer of timeless hits such as “The Times They Are a-Changin’” and “Like a Rolling Stone,” Dylan visits Amherst as part of his famous Never Ending Tour. Since the tour began on June 7, 1988, Dylan has never gone more than three months without playing a tour date. As of 2012, Dylan has performed over 2,400 concerts as part of the tour. In May 2012, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his contributions to the arts.
Tickets for the concert will go on sale at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 1. All tickets for both arena and floor sections will priced at $49.50. Tickets will be sold online or over the phone through Ticketmaster 800-745-3000, at Ticketmaster outlet locations, or in person at the Mullins Center box office. UMass faculty and staff receive a $10 discount per ticket when presenting a valid ID. Students receive a $20 discount per ticket when showing valid ID (not limited to UMass student). A limit of two discounted tickets may be purchased per ID.
